About Bible Society’s projects in the Middle East
(Bible Society Lebanon)
Working with humanitarian aid agencies, Bible Society Lebanon is offering hope to refugee children through an interactive drama presentation about reconciliation and forgiveness, based on Bible stories. The presentation — called “Reconcile!” — is accompanied by the distribution of literature which paraphrases Bible stories about reconciliation. This project aims to impact 16,000 people, including 15,000 children. Around 1,000 camp leaders and heads of families will also be offered copies of the Arabic Peace & Justice Bible.
(Bible Society Lebanon)
This project aims to provide children in refugee communities in Lebanon — and in the underprivileged communities who host them — with a Bible-based literacy course designed to help them back into a formal education system. The project involves a three-month program of two classes per week, with Arabic (level 1 to 3) and English (level 1 and 2) curriculums. Each new student receives a free Arabic Scripture containing 365 stories and an English Scripture, along with an accompanying audio CD.

Over the years, Jordan has been known to be a land of refuge for many Arab and non-Arab populations. This project serves Syrian and Iraqi refugee families as well as struggling Jordanian families. Distribution of Bibles and emergency supplies for these families are done in cooperation with volunteer partners in local churches, and through home distributions and church visits. This project also includes university and school tuition support for families nurturing the Christian faith of their children.

Bibles and Bread for Refugees
(Bible Society of Jordan)
“Through the church, volunteers provided us with much-needed essentials, such as baby kits, milk, and towels, which we saw as a direct answer to our prayers. The impact of this relief was immense, both spiritually and materially. Our faith was strengthened, and our physical needs were met. The love and support we received from our church community allowed us to start rebuilding our lives after the trauma we endured. Today, our family is doing much better. We still face challenges, but we have found a community that supports us and helps us to move forward. We will always be grateful for the love and kindness that has been shown to us during our darkest days.”
— Youseff*
a Syrian refugee.
1,261 families were assisted with basic needs(Q1 2024)

Reconcile for Refugee Children

“There are many children’s comments, all of which are joy and hope, and this is our message: to illuminate hearts whose joy has been darkened by wars and problems. I ask God to open more and more doors for us so that we can reach the largest number of children, so that we can plant a little joy in their hearts.”
