‘Jesus. All About Life’ – updates from local communities

How the annual campaign empowered Aussie churches to bring the Easter message to their communities.

Here at Bible Society Australia we love to hear about local churches getting excited to share the life-giving message of Jesus.

One of the ways that happens is through the yearly Jesus. All About Life Easter campaign.

Every year, local churches are equipped and empowered with practical resources to reach their local communities.

For Easter 2024, we supported church services and evangelism events across 5 states, by providing:

  • Easter Outreach Grants for event and marketing support
  • Free and subsidised Bibles (New Beginnings Bible & Read This. Bible)
  • The Easter Love Story books by Fern Martins for registered churches.

Feedback has flooded in from churches. Here are some of their stories.

Jesus. All About Life in South Australia

In Adelaide, approximately 70 churches came together for ’Jesus in the Park’ – a public Easter event that drew a 4,500 strong crowd.

11 worship teams and choirs sang praise to Jesus and 40 new believers were baptised at the event. Local Mayor Glenn Docherty even led prayer.

Futures Church also used Bible Society’s Outreach Grant at their Easter events across their 7 campuses in South Australia – which drew 7,600+ people.

Events Pastor Georgie Harris shared her gratitude for Jesus. All About Life.

“I’d like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Bible Society for the grant provided to our church this Easter,” Georgie told us. “It made a huge difference to our events across the Easter weekend.

“It definitely boosted the promotion of what we were doing and helped cover some of the practical costs. So thank you!”

129 people gave their lives to Jesus at Futures Church’s Easter services.

Celebrating Easter on the Gold Coast

Bible Society Australia also helped resource the Easter United event on the Gold Coast – an event that brought 5,000+ people together to celebrate.

More than 60 churches were involved in the event. Over 75 leaders shared communion together before the service – including the Mayor and federal and state MPs, as well as local business leaders.

One event goer shared this reflection:

“My favourite service of the year – when the Church comes together as the Body of Christ in unity to honour and represent the King of Kings…

“It was a beautiful location and a beautiful night, as 5,000 people gathered to worship Jesus. It was truly glorious.”

More than 50 came forward to receive a Bible at the event. Many more registered for an Alpha course at local churches, where more than 300 Bibles were given away

Reaching local parishes in WA

We especially love the way Jesus. All About Life brings different kinds of churches together with one purpose.

Friar Wayne of the Catholic Parish of Dardanup and Boyanup shared how they made use of The Easter Love Story books in Western Australia.

“The books were beautiful. We sent a copy to each family in our Parish School, then gave the reminder to all who attended our parish Easter services. Thank you for this generous outreach.”

Also in WA, around 18 churches and ministry organisations came together for the Perth Easter Gathering where 350-400 people attended the event.

It’s safe to say the Jesus. All About Life 2024 campaign was a big success – and we feel blessed to have played our part.
